Israeli born Ronnie Reshef is a composer, arranger, and performer of concert music, music for theatre, films and other media.
Ronnie's music is known for its close connection with theatre, whether choosing traditional methods like in her recent opera "Requiem for the Living" (a semi-finalist in the coming 2010 Opera-Vista Competition) and her musical "Conspiracy" (Midtown Theatre Festival, New York), or going in rather experimental routes such as her piece "Ambiguous Kafka".
Ronnie's works were played by the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphonic Orchestra, at venues such as The Mann Auditorium, Haifa theatre, various venues in New York City, Washington DC, and other locations throughout the US.
Ronnie played and composed music to main theatres is Israel and many New York theatres such as the Living Theatre, Juilliard Theatre Department, and the Hourglass Group. Many films that Ronnie scored have gained a worldwide success (Berlin Festival Prize for a best debut work, Volgin Festival Honor Award, and more).
Ronnie worked for over eight years as the musical director and composer in residence of the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio, being in charge of the music studies in the studio, and composing, arranging, conducting and directing the music and soundtracks for dozens of shows, ranging from experimental theatre to American musicals.
A doctoral candidate at Manhattan School of Music's composition program, Ronnie holds a Master's degree from Mannes College of Music, and is the winner of competitions and awards such as the Mannes Circe Competition and the Alaria Competition for a Piano Trio, as well as the Sam Spiegel School for Cinema and TV excellence prize for film scoring and the Shirimon Arrangement Prize, among others.
